Spectators: 7997 (Terracing: 5999, Seating: 1839, VIP seats: 159) Brugge United's Guido Vissenaeken started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, RÖK's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Vissenaeken came free, but Carlos Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Montenegro came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Brugge United's Guido Vissenaeken. But to his dismay, Guido Vissenaeken quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Vítor Baia made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Marcinho Brasil sent off a good shot on target. After 18 minutes Brugge United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Charles Laguna who took care of the corner kick. If Guido Vissenaeken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 28th minute Guido Vissenaeken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Chucho in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vítor Baia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 32 minutes into the match, RÖK's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Vissenaeken came free, but Carlos Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guido Vissenaeken in the 34th minute of the match. Anselmo Mandrak hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Guido Vissenaeken took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Montenegro. Carlos Montenegro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. With a little luck, Brugge United's Vítor Baia got control of the ball when Marcinho Brasil tried to sneak it across the goal line. Guido Vissenaeken struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Carlos Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brugge United. After a defensive mix-up in RÖK's zone, Guido Vissenaeken stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Montenegro came out of the goal and Guido Vissenaeken tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Brugge United were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tjark Heerdt was the one to do the kick off. Vítor Baia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Chucho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute, Tjark Heerdt made a precise shot to the right of Vítor Baia. Brugge United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Vítor Baia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Chucho, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Brugge United's Waud Huijbrechts was substituted for Jaspar Van Den Broeck. After 64 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Dacian Hrean. In the 65th minute Charles Laguna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vítor Baia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Chucho, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Ümit Karan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Montenegro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tjark Heerdt in the 73rd minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led RÖK's Charles Laguna to fire away a dangerous shot which Vítor Baia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 77 minutes into the match, RÖK's goalkeeper Carlos Montenegro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guido Vissenaeken. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guido Vissenaeken in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Montenegro saved RÖK from getting behind. After having played for 81 minutes, Guido Vissenaeken managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brugge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guido Vissenaeken was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brugge United made a substitution. Arnauld Van Impe replaced Guido Vissenaeken. In the 85th minute Tjark Heerdt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. RÖK's Carlos Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by RÖK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Maksim Rilski was slow to take the kick. During this time Brugge United's players had a chance to rest. Maksim Rilski made a great header on Brugge United's corner, it was just that RÖK's Carlos Montenegro managed to reach the ball for a save.
