The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Charlie Vandamme kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Hélio Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baba Moco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 7 minutes, Hélio Mangueira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Flavinho Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavinho Sousa couldn't finish the play. After 12 played minutes UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C got a freekick which was hit by Igor Garcia. Vladimir Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timoteo Columbo in the 13th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Hélio Mangueira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hélio Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charlie Vandamme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Timoteo Columbo in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vladimir Prestes saved UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charlie Vandamme in the 32nd minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Hélio Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute of the match UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C got a corner. Academia 1903's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Charlie Vandamme ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C's Ferreirinha dos Santos getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Pastor Elequemedo kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Academia 1903 got a freekick which was hit by Lucien de Neutere. Hélio Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baba Moco in the 43rd minute of play. Hélio Mangueira was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Charlie Vandamme capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Charlie Vandamme really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Charlie Vandamme made a kick off. Academia 1903's Timoteo Columbo got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Academia 1903's Gérard Magyar was substituted for Harald Ek. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charlie Vandamme in the 68th minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Hélio Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hélio Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Vandamme in the 68th minute of play. Vladimir Prestes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicanor Morenø in the 70th minute. Academia 1903's Hélio Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charlie Vandamme in the 72nd minute of play. With an all-out effort, Academia 1903's Vladimir Prestes threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gérard Magyar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Academia 1903's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gérard Magyar in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C's goalkeeper Vladimir Prestes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 77 minutes into the game, Nicanor Morenø recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vladimir Prestes. Nicanor Morenø showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Hélio Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charlie Vandamme, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 85th minute, Baba Moco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hélio Mangueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Academia 1903's Hélio Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charlie Vandamme in the 91st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Academia 1903's Benjamin Myhr got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After recieving a nice pass, UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C's Charlie Vandamme tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Academia 1903's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
