The supporters of Huvudstaden booed when Vęgoria Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelio Ourente didn't get a good kick on the ball. Huvudstaden's Peder Sarstedt managed to work through Vęgoria Team's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Peder Sarstedt dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Bengt Apelquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vaggelis Pavlidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Vaggelis Pavlidis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bengt Apelquist. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. In the 20th minute Patrik Heggert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Pilarski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrik Heggert scored 1-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bogdan Pilarski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bogdan Pilarski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peder Sarstedt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vęgoria Team's Bogdan Pilarski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peder Sarstedt in the 32nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Vęgoria Team's Vaggelis Pavlidis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bengt Apelquist. That made the score 2-1 after 36 minutes of play. 40 minutes into the match, Huvudstaden's Kent Jonasson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bogdan Pilarski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Huvudstaden's Bengt Apelquist got control of the ball when Vaggelis Pavlidis tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 43rd minute Vęgoria Team were awarded a corner. Emre Demir went to the cornerflag to take it. Emre Demir made a great header on Vęgoria Team's corner, it was just that Huvudstaden's Bengt Apelquist managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 47 minutes, Vaggelis Pavlidis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vęgoria Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vaggelis Pavlidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vaggelis Pavlidis to make the kick off. Bengt Apelquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vaggelis Pavlidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Huvudstaden getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Peder Sarstedt hit a great ball. Vęgoria Team's Bogdan Pilarski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Vęgoria Team from getting a goal against them. A sloppy throw-in by Vidar Ros in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Vęgoria Team's Szczepan Fiszer. The corner led Vęgoria Team's Gavino Demesio to fire away a dangerous shot which Bengt Apelquist despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Bengt Apelquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vaggelis Pavlidis in the 84th minute of the match. Bogdan Pilarski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrik Heggert in the 85th minute. Bertrand Rousseau made in the 91st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Arvid Olsson. 94 minutes into the match, Roman Sierocki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bengt Apelquist. Huvudstaden's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roman Sierocki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The Vęgoria Team players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
