The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vladan Kovačević came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by SITIO CITY's Pál Polyák. But to his dismay, Pál Polyák quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 5th minute, Fabian Czeszejko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olimpia HSB fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Vladan Kovačević made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chiquinho Pereira in the 12th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Pál Polyák managed to get in a good position for a shot. SITIO CITY's supporters rose to their feet, but Pál Polyák was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladan Kovačević breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to SITIO CITY getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Rubim Jordão hit a great ball. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by SITIO CITY's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fernando Morientes was slow to take the kick. During this time Olimpia HSB's players had a chance to rest. Cristiano Lage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Czeszejko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Fabian Czeszejko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 minutes of play, Olimpia HSB's Fabian Czeszejko made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristiano Lage was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vladan Kovačević showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pál Polyák, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Carlos Campelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pál Polyák to make the kick off. Cristiano Lage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Czeszejko in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute Pál Polyák shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladan Kovačević saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Rubim Jordão almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Olimpia HSB's Vladan Kovačević did a great save. 60 minutes into the match, Pál Polyák notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Olimpia HSB's Vladan Kovačević. Vladan Kovačević was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Calito Izquierdoz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 67 minutes into the match, Fabian Czeszejko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristiano Lage. SITIO CITY's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabian Czeszejko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Olimpia HSB made a substitution. In the 92nd minute, Pál Polyák ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vladan Kovačević was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-4. Olimpia HSB were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
