An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenios Moutsios in the 5th minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Marcos Ranolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aris Bonoris in the 10th minute of play. In the 15thth minute of the game Eugenios Moutsios who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Sheriff getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Alejandro Rubin hit a great ball. The long shot by Maximo Dei in the 21st minute really tested Yahia van der Saar's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Thanks to some nice moves Concetto Trasatti could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Yahia van der Saar however easily saved by the left post. Yahia van der Saar made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Traian Blăniță sent off a good shot on target. In the 27thth minute of the game Clayton Gol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Yahia van der Saar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl Van Der Veecken, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Marcos Ranolfo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clayton Gol went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score.

The wind increased when Clayton Gol made the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Prospero Gabirel in the 54th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sheriff's Emmanouil Paltopoulos. 55 minutes into the game, Sheriff's Clayton Gol nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Ranolfo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Sheriff's Christodoulos Parlapipas was substituted for Aris Bonoris. Sheriff's Kostas Kapellos was substituted for Emmanouil Paltopoulos. Estudiantes de América's Maximo Dei quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alejandro Rubin, made in the 62nd minute of the game. Clayton Gol received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcos Ranolfo came out and tried to block the shot, but Clayton Gol slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 69th minute. Kert Roolaid made in the 73rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Cornelio Ruisko however managed to control. Marcos Ranolfo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clayton Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 74th minute Clayton Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Prospero Gabirel hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Yahia van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Iraunkor in the 86th minute of play. Yahia van der Saar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kraig Fred, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Kraig Fred ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yahia van der Saar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3.
