The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the game, Arrecifes's Cirilo Ritchie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bran Allison made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Thanks to some nice moves Nando Leal could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Güney Mengüalp however easily saved by the left post. Cactos's Nando Leal managed to work through Arrecifes's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Nando Leal dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After 12 played minutes Arrecifes got a freekick which was hit by Dário Amaral. Cactos's Dorival de Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisinho Maciel in the 19th minute of play forced Arrecifes's goalkeeper Güney Mengüalp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Güney Mengüalp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisinho Maciel in the 21st minute of the match. Güney Mengüalp was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luisinho Maciel showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisinho Maciel in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Güney Mengüalp saved Arrecifes from getting behind. Cirilo Ritchie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bran Allison read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cactos's zone, Cirilo Ritchie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bran Allison came out of the goal and Cirilo Ritchie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cirilo Ritchie made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Cactos's Ademir Rodrigues got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute, Ademir Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nando Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arrecifes's Güney Mengüalp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cengizhan Baycan in the 61st minute of play. Cirilo Ritchie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bran Allison having to make a save. Bran Allison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cirilo Ritchie in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 67th minute Cirilo Ritchie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bran Allison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Arrecifes's goal looked a bit too open when Cengizhan Baycan came free, but Güney Mengüalp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Arrecifes's goal looked a bit too open when Nando Leal came free, but Güney Mengüalp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arrecifes's Raul Vigil managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Matias Gaitan in the 90 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Vigil in the 90th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Bran Allison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matias Gaitan's late challenge caught a Arrecifes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matias Gaitan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Arrecifes booed when Cactos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Gaitan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arrecifes's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
