The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Hanung Sephtianda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PHOENIX SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hanung Sephtianda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hanung Sephtianda struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Edson Bertassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PHOENIX SC. 7 minutes into the game, Vladimir de Sena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Edson Bertassi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 11 minutes into the match, Carrapichel - FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir de Sena came free, but Edson Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edson Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hanung Sephtianda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Carrapichel - FDFDF defense, Angelo Borges kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edson Bertassi. The Carrapichel - FDFDF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edson Bertassi should have stopped the shot. Edson Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimir de Sena in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Hanung Sephtianda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edson Bertassi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Carrapichel - FDFDF's Edson Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hanung Sephtianda in the 26th minute of play. Edson Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hanung Sephtianda in the 27th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kléberson Camargo during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of PHOENIX SC booed when Carrapichel - FDFDF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléberson Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vladimir de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson Bertassi having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Carrapichel - FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Borges came free, but Edson Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edson Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Edson Bertassi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angelo Borges went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 46th minute, Angelo Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Acácio Neto to strike the kick off in the second half. Edson Bertassi came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by PHOENIX SC's Vladimir de Sena. But to his dismay, Vladimir de Sena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Edson Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vladimir de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Edson Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Carrapichel - FDFDF's Edson Bertassi got control of the ball when Hanung Sephtianda tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edson Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hanung Sephtianda in the 62nd minute of play forced Carrapichel - FDFDF's goalkeeper Edson Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hanung Sephtianda succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 65th playminute. 72 minutes into the match, Hanung Sephtianda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edson Bertassi. Carrapichel - FDFDF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hanung Sephtianda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. 75 minutes into the match, Carrapichel - FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Hanung Sephtianda came free, but Edson Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Acácio Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Clemence saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edson Bertassi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vladimir de Sena's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. When Váldson Alagoano fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carrapichel - FDFDF's protests and gave Váldson Alagoano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Váldson Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the game, Hanung Sephtianda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Edson Bertassi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 89 minutes into the match, Carrapichel - FDFDF's goalkeeper Edson Bertassi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hanung Sephtianda. Hanung Sephtianda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Edson Bertassi made a huge save. Angelo Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Carrapichel - FDFDF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. PHOENIX SC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
