Club Atlético Atlanta's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Oscar Seguinus ran over to the corner to take the kick. Oscar Seguinus made a great header on Águilas Poblanas's corner, it was just that Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski managed to reach the ball for a save. 21 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's Marcos Berdoi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oswaldo Murillo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 44th match minute, Águilas Poblanas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucjan Gollob to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusebio Beltran got free with Pankracy Glogowski in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusebio Beltran made a kick off. Pankracy Glogowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebio Beltran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pankracy Glogowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute, Hermengildo Erroman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pankracy Glogowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Seguinus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Águilas Poblanas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciro Ferdinand was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. The supporters of Águilas Poblanas booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Ciro Ferdinand hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Atlanta's zone, Jacinto Galeno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pankracy Glogowski came out of the goal and Jacinto Galeno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 94 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Nevada. 99 minutes into the game, Águilas Poblanas's Alin Cristaldo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pankracy Glogowski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Águilas Poblanas had won after a very even match.
