Francesco Toldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Cordarrol in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to A.C. Patagonia getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ferdinando Braccia hit a great ball. Francesco Toldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Ronaldinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 27th match minute, Brujas KV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justo Videl to maneuver through the defense. Iván Comino was a little too slow when Giampaolo Pazzini got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 2-0. A nice corner shot did that Franco Fava got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Iván Comino quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 36 minutes into the match, Brujas KV's goal looked a bit too open when Giampaolo Pazzini came free, but Iván Comino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iván Comino made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Aldo Hell sent off a good shot on target. Fabiano Fiorentino charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabiano Fiorentino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, A.C. Patagonia's Fabiano Fiorentino got a free kick in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabiano Fiorentino to make the kick off.
