Vladimir Kramnik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Ritter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Uri Eckardt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anatoly Karpov in the 19th minute of play forced Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Corvin Kasik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corvin Kasik made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Sabin Miclauș sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 24 in the game by Sabin Miclauș from a close distance when the talented Corvin Kasik managed to make a qualified save. Hamburg Fighters's players were relieved. In the 27th minute José Capablanca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corvin Kasik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gelu Cornoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Corvin Kasik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Corvin Kasik, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Marko Rosenbaum hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. A collision led to FC Maci -MM- getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Anatoly Karpov hit a great ball. Sabin Miclauș recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Uri Eckardt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Corvin Kasik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Capablanca, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Marko Rosenbaum hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute Sabin Miclauș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corvin Kasik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, José Capablanca notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Hamburg Fighters's Corvin Kasik. Corvin Kasik was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Corvin Kasik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anatoly Karpov in the 61st minute of the match. After 62 minutes of play, FC Maci -MM-'s José Capablanca made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Corvin Kasik was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hamburg Fighters were furious when Per Schmettau was red carded, 66 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 65 minutes into the game, one of Hamburg Fighters:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Corvin Kasik didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Petre Zbârciog went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 73rd match minute, Hamburg Fighters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Ritter to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Petre Zbârciog managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Maci -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Petre Zbârciog was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Corvin Kasik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Capablanca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Corvin Kasik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabin Miclauș in the 81st minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Sabin Miclauș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hamburg Fighters's Corvin Kasik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anatoly Karpov in the 91st minute of play. Octavian Gaciu kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Corvin Kasik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabin Miclauș in the 94th minute of play. Gelu Cornoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 98th minute Sabin Miclauș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corvin Kasik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Maci -MM- were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Hamburg Fighters for a fine match.
