The corner led ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Julio Alacuart to fire away a dangerous shot which Lionel Van Den Broek despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Remigio Valerón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre-Paul Weggers in the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Guido Escobar made the kick off in the second half.
