The CSD Concepción fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when CSD Concepción's Daud Gazale looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Joaquin Gudesteo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Manilan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute Homero Thomson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolás Villamil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daud Gazale in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gudesteo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Victoriano Sierra hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The Old Boys's Joaquin Gudesteo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save The Old Boys from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Santa Luis managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Old Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Santa Luis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolás Villamil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to CSD Concepción getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Arturo Navarrete hit a great ball. After 28 minutes of play, CSD Concepción's Miguel Manilan made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gudesteo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in The Old Boys's zone, Mario Flores stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gudesteo came out of the goal and Mario Flores tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daud Gazale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Joaquin Gudesteo made a huge save. In the 33rd match minute, CSD Concepción was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Manilan to maneuver through the defense. When Daud Gazale came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the CSD Concepción fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daud Gazale couldn't finish the play. 39 minutes into the game, Aquilino Lauren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Old Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CSD Concepción the free kick. Juanjo Campaña hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Nicolás Villamil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santa Luis in the 44th minute of the match. CSD Concepción's Nicolás Villamil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ubaldo Savion in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Ubaldo Savion ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicolás Villamil was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ubaldo Savion stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joaquin Gudesteo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Manilan, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute.
