The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Liviu Ciolacu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MIT Craiova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Geležinis Vilkas the free kick. Liviu Ciolacu kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Vlad Anghel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svajūnas Damanskas in the 6th minute of play. Leontin Iacobescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mindaugas Žiogas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leontin Iacobescu ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, MIT Craiova's Teodor Lucaci got a free kick in the 12th minute. After some careless play in the Geležinis Vilkas defense, Leontin Iacobescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mindaugas Žiogas. The Geležinis Vilkas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mindaugas Žiogas should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Liviu Ciolacu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mindaugas Žiogas. That made the score 2-0 in the 19 minute of play. Geležinis Vilkas's Mindaugas Žiogas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leontin Iacobescu in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Edgar Teodor recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mindaugas Žiogas. Edgar Teodor showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. A sloppy throw-in by Adolfas Karaliūnas in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by MIT Craiova's Edgar Teodor. Mindaugas Žiogas was a little too slow when Edgar Teodor got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 4-0. In the 32nd minute, MIT Craiova's Edgar Teodor dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. Edgar Teodor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rupertas Lazauskas hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute, MIT Craiova's Edgar Teodor ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mindaugas Žiogas. Mindaugas Žiogas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 6-0. Vaclovas Andrulis made in the 45th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Adolfas Karaliūnas however managed to control. In the 46th minute Deimantas Satkus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Anghel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Justinas Paliūnas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Geležinis Vilkas's Liudvikas Latoža got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The MIT Craiova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Mindaugas Žiogas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Teodor in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Edgar Teodor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MIT Craiova fully deserved thier win.
