Delfim Dantas made a fantastic save in the 2nd minute, when Durvalino Carneiro sent off a good shot on target. After 5 played minutes Coritiba Foot Ball Club got a freekick which was hit by Fiori Tasso. With a little luck, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Delfim Dantas got control of the ball when Durvalino Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 15 minutes into the game, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Thiago Machado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dênis Paulista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Espigão Steamrollers's goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Machado came free, but Dênis Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 21 minutes Espigão Steamrollers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fiori Tasso who took care of the corner kick. 24 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Thiago Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dênis Paulista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dênis Paulista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Ponta in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goal looked a bit too open when Yuri Paranaense came free, but Delfim Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Delfim Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Linares in the 33rd minute of play. The Coritiba Foot Ball Club fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Thiago Machado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Durvalino Carneiro to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Steve Hyuga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dênis Paulista was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Thiago Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Thiago Machado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dênis Paulista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Delfim Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yuri Paranaense in the 68th minute of play. Thiago Machado scored 1-5 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dênis Paulista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Thiago Machado took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for Dênis Paulista to make any attempt to save it. Thiago Machado struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Dênis Paulista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coritiba Foot Ball Club. Fiori Tasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 85 played minutes Coritiba Foot Ball Club got a freekick which was hit by Dorel Ilinca. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Carneiro in the 86th minute of play forced Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goalkeeper Delfim Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Espigão Steamrollers's Dênis Paulista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Espigão Steamrollers from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute, Sérgio Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thiago Machado struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Dênis Paulista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coritiba Foot Ball Club. When Gil Vieira fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Espigão Steamrollers's protests and gave Gil Vieira a yellow card for diving instead. Gil Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Thiago Machado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dênis Paulista. That made the score 1-7 in the 96 minute of play.
