The tension between the Montesclarense E.C. and the Kjønstad BF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Kjønstad BF booed when Montesclarense E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davi Campidelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Nils-Arne Solevåg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Karsten Thorkildsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Montesclarense E.C.'s Tostão Cardoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Montesclarense E.C. from getting a goal against them. Kjønstad BF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
