The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adam Doykin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efrain Vilardell in the 3rd minute of play. In the 10th match minute, Atletico Maturrango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Cabarcos to maneuver through the defense. Diego Cabarcos hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Humberto Rossi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 19 minutes into the match, Efrain Vilardell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adam Doykin. CE LAJEADENSE RS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Efrain Vilardell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 25th minute, Humberto Rossi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nahia Velon. The goal made the score 2-1. Nahia Velon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerson Coelho in the 28th minute of play. Nahia Velon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathías Villasante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atletico Maturrango's Efrain Vilardell got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Atletico Maturrango getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Diego Cabarcos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Coelho in the 43rd minute of play forced Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper Nahia Velon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Celsinho Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Efrain Vilardell was the one to do the kick off. Efrain Vilardell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adam Doykin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efrain Vilardell in the 54th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Humberto Rossi during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Humberto Rossi hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Castel Neses hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Adam Doykin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efrain Vilardell in the 65th minute of the match. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Gilvan Moura got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Traycho Keremidchiev hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Humberto Rossi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nahia Velon was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Many of Atletico Maturrango's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Atletico Maturrango may have spent more time on the ball, but CE LAJEADENSE RS were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
