The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the game, Here Comes the Hammer's Valdir Velloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ali Cafer Yener made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Osman Ali Vatansever's late challenge caught a Here Comes the Hammer's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osman Ali Vatansever helped the player get up and apologised. Osman Ali Vatansever hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, Trabzonspor's goal looked a bit too open when Valdir Velloso came free, but Ali Cafer Yener reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Marko Persson in the 18th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Trabzonspor's Bedrettin Bektaş. Christer Åkesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fehmi Okay in the 21st minute of play. Christer Åkesson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fehmi Okay showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 21 minute of play. Bedrettin Bektaş kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Trabzonspor's Fehmi Okay got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30thth minute of the game Valdir Velloso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trabzonspor's Ali Cafer Yener was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 39 played minutes Trabzonspor got a freekick which was hit by Aykut Kutluay. In the 43rd minute, Valdir Velloso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Valdir Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Trabzonspor's Ali Cafer Yener played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Velloso in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Here Comes the Hammer were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fehmi Okay was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Trabzonspor's goal looked a bit too open when Valdir Velloso came free, but Ali Cafer Yener reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valdir Velloso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ali Cafer Yener having to make a save. Trabzonspor's Ali Cafer Yener played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Velloso in the 55th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdir Velloso got free with Ali Cafer Yener in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emil Paulin kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Şükrü Yuvakuran was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ali Cafer Yener stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir Velloso's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. After 70 played minutes Trabzonspor got a freekick which was hit by Alim Çavas. Here Comes the Hammer's Fred Petersson was substituted for Valdir Velloso. In the 71st minute, Alim Çavas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Here Comes the Hammer's Marko Persson quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bedrettin Bektaş, made in the 75th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fred Petersson got free with Ali Cafer Yener in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 78 minutes of play, Trabzonspor's Emre Aşık made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christer Åkesson was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Here Comes the Hammer's Fred Petersson in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Trabzonspor's goalie prevented a goal. In the 83rd minute Fred Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Cafer Yener saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 85 played minutes Trabzonspor got a freekick which was hit by Osman Ali Vatansever. Fred Petersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Cafer Yener having to interfere. In the 89th minute Fred Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Cafer Yener saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute, Here Comes the Hammer's Evert Wahlnäs dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-5. Here Comes the Hammer played a much better game than Trabzonspor and deserved their victory. The Trabzonspor players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
