Ricardo Kaká was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 8th minute Eraldo Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mümtaz Oba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Koray Ömer hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Ernesto Delle Donne could shoot a difficult shot in the 13th minute, which Mümtaz Oba however easily saved by the left post. 17 minutes into the match, Blue Mountain State's goal looked a bit too open when Eraldo Motta came free, but Mümtaz Oba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Blue Mountain State's goalkeeper Mümtaz Oba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernesto Delle Donne. After 22 played minutes Blue Mountain State got a freekick which was hit by Hilmi Özbilek. Mümtaz Oba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emilio Dossena's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. If Eraldo Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mümtaz Oba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmine Vani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Blue Mountain State's Désiré Kaká got a free kick in the 28th minute. Blue Mountain State's Koray Ömer managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Filippo Di Leonardo in the 33 minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eraldo Motta got free with Mümtaz Oba in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute, Ernesto Delle Donne reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mümtaz Oba. The goal made the score 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A.S. Udinese's Alessio Ferreri was substituted for Ferenc Kocsis. Amos Maurizi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Kaká, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eraldo Motta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Filippo Di Cesare replaced Emilio Dossena. Carmine Vani charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carmine Vani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carmine Vani hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. A collision led to Blue Mountain State getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ricardo Kaká hit a great ball. Mümtaz Oba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carmine Vani went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Mümtaz Oba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eraldo Motta went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. When Silvio Che fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.S. Udinese's protests and gave Silvio Che a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th minute, Silvio Che hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute, Carmine Vani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mümtaz Oba was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Ricardo Kaká fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amos Maurizi having to interfere.
