The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roberto Mendonça during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joaquim Marques made a kick off. If Ademar Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murilo Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Koray Ömer in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Rubinho Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute Koray Ömer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Efekan Selim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Mümtaz Oba managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Várzea F.C.'s Joaquim Marques fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ademar Mendes struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Mümtaz Oba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Várzea F.C.. The Blue Mountain State support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
