In the 35th minute, Francisco Walme fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Naohiro Takahara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Magdaleno having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guido Carrillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
