Edson Falcão scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Avram Seremet, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stelian Blidaru in the 14th minute of play forced Coelho FC's goalkeeper Nestor Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Matei Onaca sped through Coelho FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nestor Lopes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Pană in the 24th minute of play forced Coelho FC's goalkeeper Nestor Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nestor Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Pană in the 29th minute of the match. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Stiinta-Univ.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Samuel do Vale was slow to take the kick. During this time Coelho FC's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Coelho FC booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Băieșu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Coelho FC's Samuel do Vale tried to score from far away in the 38th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Felix Pană ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nestor Lopes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Nestor Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stelian Blidaru in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Stiinta-Univ. were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matei Onaca made a kick off. Avram Seremet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Negri in the 52nd minute of the match. 55 minutes into the game, Coelho FC's Jonathan Negri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Avram Seremet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 57th minute, Jonathan Negri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mihai Niță during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 58 played minutes Stiinta-Univ. got a freekick which was hit by Mihai Niță. In the 59th minute, Samuel do Vale sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Stiinta-Univ.'s Avram Seremet didn't even have to move. After 62 played minutes Coelho FC got a freekick which was hit by Edson Falcão. After a rather tough play, Coelho FC's Júlio Brasil got a free kick in the 69th minute. After 72 played minutes Coelho FC got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Brasil. Felix Pană received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Nestor Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 77 minutes, Traian Lupescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stiinta-Univ.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Traian Lupescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Manuel Burdujan got a free kick in the 79th minute. Samuel do Vale took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Avram Seremet. Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 83rd minute Felix Pană shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Avram Seremet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Paraense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute, Stelian Blidaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Stiinta-Univ. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
