With a little luck, Degerfors IF's Eric Ivarsson got control of the ball when Dacian Patrichi tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Degerfors IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dorin Arșanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Åke Kjellqvist in the 12th minute of play. Eric Ivarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dacian Patrichi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Jerry Gane ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eric Ivarsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 44th minute, Degerfors IF's Hampus Browall seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hampus Browall the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Degerfors IF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hampus Browall had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Degerfors IF getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Hampus Browall hit a great ball. A hard shot 46 in the game by Dacian Patrichi from a close distance when the talented Eric Ivarsson managed to make a qualified save. Degerfors IF's players were relieved. In the 48th minute Jerry Gane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Ivarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Mihnea Măcriș might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eric Ivarsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Degerfors IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee ignored Degerfors IF's protests and gave Per-Åke Kjellqvist a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Nistor Pătran managed to get in a good position for a shot. After some careless play in the Degerfors IF defense, Dacian Patrichi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eric Ivarsson. The Degerfors IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eric Ivarsson should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Rovine Craiova booed when Degerfors IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torsten Kock didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Jerry Gane cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Eric Ivarsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 82 minutes of play, Rovine Craiova's Nistor Pătran made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eric Ivarsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 87th minute Dacian Patrichi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Ivarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rovine Craiova's Jerry Gane got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eric Ivarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dacian Patrichi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, Degerfors IF's goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Gane came free, but Eric Ivarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Jerry Gane had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric Ivarsson. Degerfors IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerry Gane was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rovine Craiova fans cheered their team off the field, for while Degerfors IF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
