The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rik Numan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ellsworth Lindsay in the 4th minute of the match. Gerard Oost recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 12th play minutes Brenton Carrasco shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Rik Numan and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ellsworth Lindsay in the 25th minute of play forced Mijdrecht Maffia's goalkeeper Rik Numan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 28 played minutes Varennes got a freekick which was hit by Sandy Hendrix. Serge Ewald took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brice Leach. Varennes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gerard Oost scored 2-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brice Leach, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 34thth minute of the game Gerard Oost who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varennes's Brice Leach was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Gerard Oost came free, but Brice Leach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Mijdrecht Maffia getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Gijsbert van Schaik hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ellsworth Lindsay made a kick off. Varennes's Lee Coffman got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Mijdrecht Maffia getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Laurens Hollander hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, Mijdrecht Maffia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuri Kaptein to maneuver through the defense. Rik Numan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Randell McCullough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerard Oost in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brice Leach, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Mijdrecht Maffia's Gerard Oost in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varennes's goalie prevented a goal. Mijdrecht Maffia's Rik Numan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loic Deal in the 72nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lazare Long during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Varennes getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Lazare Long hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Gijsbert van Schaik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 77 played minutes Mijdrecht Maffia got a freekick which was hit by Gijsbert van Schaik. Lee Coffman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rik Numan having to interfere. Rik Numan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lee Coffman went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Mijdrecht Maffia's Rik Numan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ellsworth Lindsay in the 86th minute of play. If Loic Deal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Gerard Oost came free, but Brice Leach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ellsworth Lindsay in the 96th minute of play forced Mijdrecht Maffia's goalkeeper Rik Numan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Varennes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mijdrecht Maffia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
