In the 10th minute, VC zoetwater's Bobby Aelgoet dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 12 minutes into the game, Kyrre Holmefjord was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AEK FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VC zoetwater the free kick. The audience was convinced that Ståle Skogli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tjorven Demeester was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. In the 18th minute Martin Grønningsæter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tjorven Demeester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Halvard Berggren fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AEK FC's protests and gave Halvard Berggren a yellow card for diving instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

In the 88th minute Kyrre Holmefjord shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tjorven Demeester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, VC zoetwater's Bobby Aelgoet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Finn Eidsvåg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-3. After 95 played minutes VC zoetwater got a freekick which was hit by Bobby Aelgoet. Tjorven Demeester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyrre Holmefjord, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the AEK FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for VC zoetwater.
