The referee ignored Hahay's protests and gave Alfred Skirzynski a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes Hahay got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Skirzynski. Silvinho Brodel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zbyszek Pilipiec. Hahay's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Noworolnik kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Serginho Taffarel. That made the score 1-2 in the 40 minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Hahay's goal looked a bit too open when Toninho Goiano came free, but Zbyszek Pilipiec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th match minute, Hahay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Przemyslaw Ankiewicz to maneuver through the defense. Zbyszek Pilipiec breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zbyszek Pilipiec stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hugo Albuquerque's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. 77 minutes into the match, William Guerreiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zbyszek Pilipiec.
