A beautiful save bye FC Ruscova's goalie prevented a goal. Carlos Fernando Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niculae Andronescu having to interfere. Niculae Andronescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio de Lima in the 27th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the game, Pedrão Jacinto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Niculae Andronescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mihnea Puric was the one to do the kick off. Pedrão Jacinto struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Niculae Andronescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galo do Japi. If Sílvio de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Galo do Japi getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Marco Eger hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the game, Marian Novăceanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Ruscova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galo do Japi the free kick. The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when FC Ruscova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marian Novăceanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 63rd minute of the match Natanael Cavalcante completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Natanael Cavalcante a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 63 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Natanael Cavalcante. After 65 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Fernando Veloso. After 73 minutes, Gavril Iordănescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Ruscova and the Galo do Japi players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, FC Ruscova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavril Iordănescu to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Galo do Japi's Benedito Bittencourt got a free kick in the 95th minute. Galo do Japi's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
