An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Birila in the 3rd minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Martyon Diehl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Andres Stevens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ezequiel Azeari was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 7th minute, Astor Chinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute, Carlisle Fenwick ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ezequiel Azeari was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 11 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goal looked a bit too open when Paco Everett came free, but Ezequiel Azeari reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ezequiel Azeari didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paco Everett went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Hipolito Johans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Martyon Diehl made a huge save. Martyon Diehl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hipolito Johans in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Martyon Diehl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergio Jerano. Gustavo Birila in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Martyon Diehl, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 21st minute, Drake Sobczak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute Andres Stevens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezequiel Azeari saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Paco Everett had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ezequiel Azeari. Papillon AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paco Everett was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 40th minute of the match Papillon AC got a corner. Boroondara Milan's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gustavo Birila ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Papillon AC's corner Gustavo Birila fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Martyon Diehl quite easily take care of the ball. Martyon Diehl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Birila in the 42nd minute of the match. Arty Shearn hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. A collision led to Boroondara Milan getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ned Mills hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Hipolito Johans's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martyon Diehl was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gustavo Birila made a kick off. Sergio Jerano kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Andres Stevens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boroondara Milan's supporters rose to their feet, but Andres Stevens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ezequiel Azeari breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boroondara Milan's Martyon Diehl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Jerano in the 55th minute of play. Sergio Jerano hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Papillon AC's goalkeeper Ezequiel Azeari, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Boroondara Milan were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Papillon AC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ned Mills took the corner. A very nice done corner allowed Drake Sobczak to score against Ezequiel Azeari in Papillon AC's goal. 0-5 after 60 minutes. 67 minutes into the game, Papillon AC's Gustavo Birila nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Martyon Diehl made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. Papillon AC's Fernando Domeka was substituted for Fabian Caitano. Boroondara Milan's Martyon Diehl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Birila in the 76th minute of play. Ezequiel Azeari made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Carlisle Fenwick sent off a good shot on target. Bai Bang Xiong hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Modestio in the 93rd minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Martyon Diehl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Papillon AC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Boroondara Milan to win.
