In the 4th minute Boleslaw Zielinski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moisés Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gremio Viana were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after Lyons's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. 苏景骋 took the corner. Domingos Lencastre struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Luisito Quinten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gremio Viana. Moisés Nóbrega came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Lyons's Boleslaw Zielinski. But to his dismay, Boleslaw Zielinski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Boleslaw Zielinski came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Lyons fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boleslaw Zielinski couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Boleslaw Zielinski came free, but Moisés Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domingos Lencastre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luisito Quinten having to make a save. Domingos Lencastre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Luisito Quinten made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Domingos Lencastre in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luisito Quinten saved Lyons from getting behind. Boleslaw Zielinski scored 1-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Moisés Nóbrega, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Lyons getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Mario Chago hit a great ball. After 42 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Amado Melo. 46 minutes into the game, Lyons's Boleslaw Zielinski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Moisés Nóbrega made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Domingos Lencastre made a kick off. Domingos Lencastre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lyons's Luisito Quinten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Lencastre in the 65th minute of play. Adalberto Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th minute, Adalberto Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Illan made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 70thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Moisés Nóbrega would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Paulo Illans short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Moisés Nóbrega to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luisito Quinten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Lencastre in the 80th minute of play. Moisés Nóbrega made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cesar Remigio in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Ruperto Salvadore came free, but Moisés Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gremio Viana's Joaquim Paredes was substituted for Domingos Lencastre. Lyons's Dariusz Roano was substituted for Paulo Illan. After 89 minutes Gremio Viana's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcos Berasko who took care of the corner kick. In the 94th minute of the match Gremio Viana got a corner. Lyons's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adalberto Leite ran over to the corner to take the kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Lyons's Dariusz Roano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Moisés Nóbrega. That made the score 1-5 after 96 minutes of play.
