Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julian Trzenzalski, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. AEK S.C's attentive Donzel Goyeneta managed to snatch the ball when Paolo Di Canio made a throw-in in the 24th minute of the game. Donzel Goyeneta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julian Trzenzalski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. If Thalis Krommidas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanasis Koltsidas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luckas Baert in the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thalis Krommidas in the 30th minute of play forced KKS Magines's goalkeeper Julian Trzenzalski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Thalis Krommidas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Trzenzalski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luckas Baert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Percha to make the kick off. With a little luck, AEK S.C's Thanasis Koltsidas got control of the ball when Robert Percha tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Rodrigo Hats came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the AEK S.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Hats couldn't finish the play. The supporters of KKS Magines booed when AEK S.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Winter didn't get a good kick on the ball. AEK S.C made a substitution. João Francisco de Andrade replaced Marinos Sakalis. AEK S.C's Thanasis Koltsidas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save AEK S.C from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, KKS Magines's Sylwester Cieliczka got a free kick in the 58th minute. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Vaggelis Mitsiou sped through KKS Magines's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julian Trzenzalski. The audience was convinced that Vaggelis Mitsiou's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julian Trzenzalski was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. After 85 minutes, Vaggelis Mitsiou made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. KKS Magines's Julian Trzenzalski tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 88 minutes into the match, Kevin Carreira notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of KKS Magines's Julian Trzenzalski. AEK S.C's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
