The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ray Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Oso, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 6 minutes into the match, PHOENIX SC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Oso came free, but Ray Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Wawrzyniec Sakowicz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 28 minutes, Attila Toldi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PHOENIX SC and the Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 28th match minute, PHOENIX SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Attila Toldi to maneuver through the defense. Ray Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Izel, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 35th minute, Luis Oso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ray Clemence was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. If Martin Urtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ray Clemence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Oso in the 40th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Wawrzyniec Sakowicz took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Ray Clemence to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angelo Borges to strike the kick off in the second half. Julian Roland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelo Borges in the 70th minute. Ezequiel Izel kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bacary Ligier in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ray Clemence saved PHOENIX SC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wawrzyniec Sakowicz in the 84th minute of play forced PHOENIX SC's goalkeeper Ray Clemence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ray Clemence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wawrzyniec Sakowicz in the 86th minute of play. Ray Clemence showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanislaw Watarz in the 87th minute of the match. After 89 minutes, Angelo Borges made it 4-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ's Julian Roland tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ray Clemence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bacary Ligier in the 92nd minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, PHOENIX SC's goal looked a bit too open when Stanislaw Watarz came free, but Ray Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PHOENIX SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
