The audience was convinced that Cris Gol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustave Souchu was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. If Mihail Toader had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite this Gustave Souchu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cris Gol in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustave Souchu saved R.C. Marseille from getting behind. Cris Gol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Cris Gol came free, but Gustave Souchu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The R.C. Marseille players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. THE CRYSTAL SHIP were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cris Gol stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 68th minute, THE CRYSTAL SHIP's Jaspar De Weijgaert ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gustave Souchu. Gustave Souchu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. R.C. Marseille's Djibril Mourot was substituted for Mihail Toader. But to his dismay, Cyrille Melon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When the match was over THE CRYSTAL SHIP could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than R.C. Marseille throughout the match.
