Vinará FC's Konrāds Rabkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hocine Croix in the 10th minute of play. Konrāds Rabkins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cyrille Melon in the 12th minute. Renan Bouzat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Konrāds Rabkins made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Mattin Boiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustave Souchu was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Vinará FC's Konrāds Rabkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cyrille Melon in the 16th minute of play. Konrāds Rabkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyrille Melon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Efrain Kismi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Konrāds Rabkins managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when R.C. Marseille's Cyrille Melon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of R.C. Marseille booed when Vinará FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauri Gato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cyrille Melon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Konrāds Rabkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomas Eriksson during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 36th minute of the match Renan Bouzat sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Konrāds Rabkins skillfully saved the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Vinará FC's goalkeeper Konrāds Rabkins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cyrille Melon. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vinará FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Renan Bouzat was slow to take the kick. During this time R.C. Marseille's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to R.C. Marseille's Hocine Croix getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. With a little luck, Vinará FC's Konrāds Rabkins got control of the ball when Cyrille Melon tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 41 minutes, Maxence Demay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. R.C. Marseille's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maxence Demay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cyrille Melon scored 3-0 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Konrāds Rabkins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cyrille Melon in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Konrāds Rabkins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hocine Croix struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Konrāds Rabkins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for R.C. Marseille. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Cyrille Melon put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Konrāds Rabkins. In the 60th minute Cyrille Melon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konrāds Rabkins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renan Bouzat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konrāds Rabkins having to interfere. A nice corner shot did that Jean-Marc Buisson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Konrāds Rabkins quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 93 minutes of play Vinará FC's Tomas Eriksson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Tomas Eriksson kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
