Tage Backlund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Ramiro Sica made a huge save. In the 37th minute, Fulvio Vittorio made a precise shot to the right of Manfred Fribäck. Norrlands Athen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Fulvio Vittorio might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manfred Fribäck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fulvio Vittorio ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 44th match minute, Norrlands Athen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Du Le Jun to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 45 minutes, Fulvio Vittorio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La France FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fulvio Vittorio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fulvio Vittorio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ramiro Sica took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Källberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The La France FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing La France FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
