It was beautiful to see Flying Hellfish's Darin Gannan in action when he in the 39th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Gündüz Engiay's late challenge caught a Flying Hellfish's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gündüz Engiay helped the player get up and apologised. Flying Hellfish made a substitution. Rex Peplow replaced Daniel Afloroaiei. Gündüz Engiay kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Rex Peplow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uğuralp Vasfi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uğuralp Vasfi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rex Peplow's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. The Flying Hellfish fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when Flying Hellfish's Rex Peplow looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 47th minute, Roberto-Carlos Björklund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Flying Hellfish were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rex Peplow to make the kick off.
