But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Basajaun couldn't finish the play. 48 minutes into the game, Mikel Señoret recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mariusz Komornicki. Mikel Señoret showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. The Talcampeón FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lolo Acharan was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Talcampeón FC booed when CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr Falcão didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 53 minutes, Marcelino Fritz made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Talcampeón FC's Edgardo Rondanelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Talcampeón FC from getting a goal against them. After 87 minutes Talcampeón FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vitório Barbosa who took care of the corner kick. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Mariusz Komornicki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lolo Acharan in the 88th minute of play. A hard shot by Vitório Barbosa from long distance, 91 minutes into the match, got Edgardo Rondanelli's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Walmyr Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Rondanelli having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio da Cunha in the 95th minute of play forced Talcampeón FC's goalkeeper Edgardo Rondanelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
