A nice corner shot did that Bozhil Vaptzarov got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rogério Ceni quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience was convinced that Afonso da Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gonsalve Flores was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in U.D. Mancini's zone, Afonso da Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonsalve Flores came out of the goal and Afonso da Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rogério Ceni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bozhil Vaptzarov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's zone, Henrik Larsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Ceni came out of the goal and Henrik Larsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute, Cumhur Günay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fan Yang Hong made in the 35th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Cumhur Günay immediately put the ball in play. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Rogério Ceni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Pedrosa in the 36th minute of play. In the 40th minute of the match Belgrano LOS PIRATAS got a corner. U.D. Mancini's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eulalio Jago kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. U.D. Mancini's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bozhil Vaptzarov in the 48th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonso da Cunha to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Belgrano LOS PIRATAS got a freekick which was hit by Eulalio Jago. Gonsalve Flores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cumhur Günay in the 56th minute of play. Rogério Ceni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Pedrosa in the 58th minute. Teodoro Hartz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonsalve Flores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
