In the 4th minute of the match, Jerónimo Furtado tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gerwin Broerse saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 6 minutes, Jerónimo Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. União Sport Clube Paredes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerónimo Furtado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerónimo Furtado got free with Gerwin Broerse in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 9th match minute, Sheep United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Antonio Parra to maneuver through the defense. Sheep United's Gerwin Broerse proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Sheep United from getting a goal against them. In the last second Gerwin Broerse throw himself and got hold of the ball when Jerónimo Furtado in the 12thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After some careless play in the Sheep United defense, Jerónimo Furtado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerwin Broerse. The Sheep United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerwin Broerse should have stopped the shot. 16 minutes into the game, Sheep United's Henrik Kilström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edwin van der Sar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 23rd minute Diego Sánchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sheep United's José Antonio Parra got a free kick in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's Dabi Saens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerwin Broerse narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Errando in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edwin van der Sar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gerwin Broerse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerónimo Furtado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, União Sport Clube Paredes's Alexandre Santana dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jerónimo Furtado to strike the kick off in the second half. União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save União Sport Clube Paredes from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute, Jakob Lundin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edwin van der Sar. The goal made the score 2-4. 66 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jakob Lundin. 68 minutes into the match, Sheep United's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Quilo came free, but Gerwin Broerse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jakob Lundin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henrik Kilström came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edwin van der Sar could save by the left post. In the 77th minute, Alexandre Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The União Sport Clube Paredes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-4. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gerwin Broerse didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jerónimo Furtado went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-4 was the resulting score. An unexpected shot in the 86th minute by José Antonio Parra got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jakob Lundin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerwin Broerse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dabi Saens, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Jakob Lundin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, Edwin van der Sar skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Henrik Kilström who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Edwin van der Sar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sheep United's Henrik Kilström got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Many of Sheep United's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Sheep United may have spent more time on the ball, but União Sport Clube Paredes were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
