Osvaldinho Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Polo Quinteros in the 5th minute of play. Abelardo Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Polo Quinteros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th match minute, Olivedos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Polo Quinteros in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Maranhense saved Olivedos from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Polo Quinteros in the 17th minute of play forced Olivedos's goalkeeper Abelardo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Santa Lucia de Merlo made a substitution. M. Agus Young replaced Polo Quinteros. Cássio Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Florentino Herauso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnaldo Chano hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the match, Santa Lucia de Merlo's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Vianna came free, but Florentino Herauso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abelardo Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from M. Agus Young in the 91st minute of play. Florentino Herauso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
