An unexpectedly hard shot by Fredrik Terwenhout in the 6th minute of play forced Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalkeeper Aguinaga Nebot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sean Van Dijck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İbrahim Volkan in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Martinez Cines was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esmeraldas S.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Limburg United the free kick. The audience was convinced that İbrahim Volkan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sean Van Dijck was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Aguinaga Nebot was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Brend Vanden Driessche showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 44 minute of play. Aguinaga Nebot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brend Vanden Driessche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esmeraldas S.C. were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Limburg United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niki Borda took the corner. The corner led Esmeraldas S.C.'s Niki Borda to fire away a dangerous shot which Sean Van Dijck despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Joris De Raeve came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Limburg United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joris De Raeve couldn't finish the play. If Stefanos Terzopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aguinaga Nebot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredrik Terwenhout in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 79th match minute, Esmeraldas S.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ghitã Fratea to maneuver through the defense. After 80 played minutes, Limburg United's Fabian Orellana shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aguinaga Nebot came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Limburg United reached it. Aguinaga Nebot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joris De Raeve, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 82 minutes into the game, Limburg United's Fredrik Terwenhout nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aguinaga Nebot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 86th minute Brend Vanden Driessche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aguinaga Nebot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Aguinaga Nebot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brend Vanden Driessche in the 86th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Joris De Raeve cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Aguinaga Nebot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damian Maftei got free with Sean Van Dijck in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Limburg United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Esmeraldas S.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
