After a rather tough play, Matheu City FC's Mariano Egoitz got a free kick in the 8th minute. Matheu City FC's Celedonio Eguen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaudencio Orlondon in the 11th minute of play. With a little luck, Gold Army 1923's Peter Schmeichel got control of the ball when Vicente Marin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Celedonio Eguen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Ledesma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Schmeichel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Blanco in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute Gaudencio Orlondon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Eguen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 39 minutes, Gaudencio Orlondon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gold Army 1923's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaudencio Orlondon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute, Gaudencio Orlondon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joaquin Ledesma stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ruperto Serafo might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Schmeichel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ruperto Serafo ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Gold Army 1923's zone, Aurelio Blanco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Schmeichel came out of the goal and Aurelio Blanco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th minute Rüstem Tozun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Eguen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celedonio Eguen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Orlondon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
