The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Dacian Patrichi fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rovine Craiova's protests and gave Dacian Patrichi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute, Dacian Patrichi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 11 minutes into the match, Rovine Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Alin Barna came free, but Dorin Arșanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Jerry Gane left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rovine Craiova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Sandu Munteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Viorel Odobescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dacian Patrichi in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute Rovine Craiova were awarded a corner. Nistor Pătran went to the cornerflag to take it. Dragoş Caba thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Viorel Odobescu, a very annoying self made goal in the 34th minute which led to 0-2. Viorel Odobescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Munteanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th match minute, Implant de Ego ™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Cazacu to maneuver through the defense. If Dacian Patrichi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 played minutes Rovine Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Costică Ştefănescu. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

52 minutes in the game, Sandu Munteanu dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Viorel Odobescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandu Munteanu's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Viorel Odobescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dacian Patrichi in the 62nd minute. Costică Tatu kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. The supporters of Implant de Ego ™ booed when Rovine Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liviu Nițescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Gane in the 91st minute of play forced Implant de Ego ™'s goalkeeper Viorel Odobescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Rovine Craiova could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Implant de Ego ™ throughout the match.
