The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bayan Gugovski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mikus Linkūns in the 8th minute. Bayan Gugovski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zygmunt Malik in the 10th minute of play. Aytek Samin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquiles Urtsin in the 13th minute of play. After some careless play in the El Retorno de Palermo defense, Ediberto Sampaio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aytek Samin. The El Retorno de Palermo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aytek Samin should have stopped the shot. Aytek Samin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aquiles Urtsin went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the El Retorno de Palermo defense, Benjamim Mota kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aytek Samin. The El Retorno de Palermo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aytek Samin should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, El Retorno de Palermo's Martin Videl got a free kick in the 34th minute. El Retorno de Palermo's Aytek Samin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ediberto Sampaio in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mikus Linkūns got free with Bayan Gugovski in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bayan Gugovski was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Martin Videl capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Martin Videl really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. After 45 played minutes Merengue FC got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim Mota. 46 minutes into the match, Zygmunt Malik dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bayan Gugovski, 2-3. After the first half Merengue FC were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Aquiles Urtsin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Aytek Samin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Merengue FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ediberto Sampaio in the 57th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Darwin Núñez heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Ediberto Sampaio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Aytek Samin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 63rd minute of the match, Ediberto Sampaio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aytek Samin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bayan Gugovski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benicio Osasun in the 64th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Merengue FC's Ediberto Sampaio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. Aytek Samin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquiles Urtsin in the 70th minute of play. Aytek Samin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aquiles Urtsin in the 71st minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Mikus Linkūns got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bayan Gugovski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zygmunt Malik's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. The supporters of El Retorno de Palermo booed when Merengue FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albino Dimas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Videl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Bayan Gugovski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikus Linkūns in the 90th minute of play forced Merengue FC's goalkeeper Bayan Gugovski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Videl hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After 95 played minutes, Merengue FC's Ediberto Sampaio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aytek Samin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Merengue FC reached it. The El Retorno de Palermo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Merengue FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
