In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Messejana SportClub - DMZ's goalkeeper Per-Olof Sikström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Messejana SportClub - DMZ's zone, Raphael Ceresso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Per-Olof Sikström came out of the goal and Raphael Ceresso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute José Paulo Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chico Pinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juarês Melo went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Messejana SportClub - DMZ's Per-Olof Sikström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alpheios Logarakis in the 36th minute of play. Nova Era's Chico Pinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Nova Era from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alpheios Logarakis in the 42nd minute of play forced Messejana SportClub - DMZ's goalkeeper Per-Olof Sikström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juarês Melo got free with Chico Pinho in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
