When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Roman Riquelme sped through Club Atlético Atlanta's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pankracy Glogowski. Denis Paulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Nevada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Atlético Atlanta were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Defensores de Lombroso's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ciro Ferdinand took the corner. Anselmo Nevada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Paulin having to interfere. When Ciro Ferdinand fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Atlanta's protests and gave Ciro Ferdinand a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Defensores de Lombroso booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Ferdinand didn't get a good kick on the ball. Godfredo Gau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 46th minute Godfredo Gau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Uriel Ferrer to make the kick off. Denis Paulin made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Şevket Çağa sent off a good shot on target. Pankracy Glogowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Riquelme in the 55th minute of the match. 55 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Defensores de Lombroso's Roman Riquelme fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 58th minute, Juan Simon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denis Paulin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Nevada in the 61st minute of play. In the 64thth minute of the game Roman Riquelme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Uriel Ferrer in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pankracy Glogowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd minute, Elian Müller left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Defensores de Lombroso fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. The audience was convinced that Elian Müller's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pankracy Glogowski was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Pankracy Glogowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uriel Ferrer, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Club Atlético Atlanta's Ciro Ferdinand tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Denis Paulin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Şevket Çağa in the 94th minute. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Riquelme in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Defensores de Lombroso fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Atlético Atlanta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
