An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Edvin Dalgren in the 23rd minute of play forced CON-E-CO's goalkeeper Nilson Peres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francisco Raymond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kamiel Stessel in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute Antonio Ubarna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Peres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, CON-E-CO's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Ubarna came free, but Nilson Peres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Antonio Ubarna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nilson Peres. CON-E-CO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antonio Ubarna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kamiel Stessel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Dante Teyo hit a great ball. If Kamiel Stessel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, CON-E-CO's Nilson Peres got control of the ball when Antonio Ubarna tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd minute Ahmet Baki Lebib shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Raymond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Francisco Dolfo got a free kick in the 74th minute. Racing Club's Dante Teyo got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of CON-E-CO booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Teyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 94 played minutes CON-E-CO got a freekick which was hit by Mogel Caldeiro. CON-E-CO's Nilson Peres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save CON-E-CO from getting a goal against them. The CON-E-CO manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Racing Club to win.
