The Bloodthirsty FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sven-Olof Gudmundsson should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Independente FC booed when Bloodthirsty FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gösta Pihlblad didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos de Azevedo in the 78th minute of play forced Bloodthirsty FC's goalkeeper Sven-Olof Gudmundsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto Gonçalves got free with Sven-Olof Gudmundsson in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
