Alcorcón got a freekick which was hit by Apolinar Guijarro. In the 3rd minute of the match Kurt Hamrin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maurino Serena skillfully saved the ball. When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Erlantz Bermejo sped through Skövde AIK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Karl-Erik Norström. Maurino Serena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerry Williams in the 11th minute of the match. Maurino Serena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erlantz Bermejo in the 29th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Norström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Skövde AIK getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Håkan Kruse hit a great ball. Belo Alvarez scored 2-0 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl-Erik Norström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kurt Hamrin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th minute, Belo Alvarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Keegan in the 37th minute of play forced A.D. Alcorcón's goalkeeper Maurino Serena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl-Erik Norström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belo Alvarez in the 38th minute. After a rather tough play, A.D. Alcorcón's Belo Alvarez got a free kick in the 43rd minute.

The wind increased when Kevin Keegan made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerry Williams got free with Maurino Serena in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 54th minute, Esteban Vadillos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to A.D. Alcorcón getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Esteban Vadillos hit a great ball. A.D. Alcorcón's Eusebio Quijana was substituted for Natxo Cacheres. The supporters of Skövde AIK booed when A.D. Alcorcón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Vadillos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl-Erik Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erlantz Bermejo in the 61st minute of the match. Karl-Erik Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belo Alvarez, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. If Jerry Williams had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Skövde AIK defense, Esteban Vadillos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Erik Norström. The Skövde AIK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Erik Norström should have stopped the shot. After 82 minutes of play, A.D. Alcorcón's Esteban Vadillos made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Karl-Erik Norström was left in no man's land by his defense there! A.D. Alcorcón made a substitution. Leroy Antunez replaced Belo Alvarez. After 85 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Hans Petersson. A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save A.D. Alcorcón from getting a goal against them. Karl-Erik Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erlantz Bermejo, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 95th match minute, A.D. Alcorcón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusebio Quijana to maneuver through the defense. The A.D. Alcorcón support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
