Fırat Aytekin made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Gucci Prada sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute Johannes Kruuse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Hedlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johannes Kruuse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sonny Hedlund having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, S.C. Corinthians Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júnior Baiano to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Dirie FC's zone, Tiago Clavell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sonny Hedlund came out of the goal and Tiago Clavell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camillo Giandomenico in the 71st minute of play forced Dirie FC's goalkeeper Sonny Hedlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurício Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Dirie FC's Sonny Hedlund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Dirie FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camillo Giandomenico got free with Sonny Hedlund in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
