Set Master could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Egun Pais made a huge save. Egun Pais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrey Shevchenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute Andy Cole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Atlético da Colina booed when Floresta Negra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alto Muro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Egun Pais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrey Shevchenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrey Shevchenko in the 23rd minute of play forced Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Oscar Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrey Shevchenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egun Pais having to interfere. Set Master could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Egun Pais made a huge save. In the 39th minute, Andy Cole got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Atlético da Colina's Waldir Andrade got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Andy Cole made the kick off in the second half. If Lokon Pøhl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute Set Master shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute Denílson Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Set Master in the 75th minute of play forced Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Andy Cole came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Floresta Negra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andy Cole couldn't finish the play.
