In the 9th minute, Nikifor Vardev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sebastián Sosa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Marek Torm made in the 15th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Guaberto Ongile. Marco Cantona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zdzislaw Slazak having to make a save. Zdzislaw Slazak made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Marco Cantona sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Marco Cantona sped through Barbudos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zdzislaw Slazak. 24 minutes into the match, Barbudos FC's Nikifor Vardev sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastián Sosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastián Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Budianu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zdzislaw Slazak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Cantona, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Marco Cantona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zdzislaw Slazak having to make a save. 34 minutes into the match, Nikifor Vardev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sebastián Sosa. Vikingos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nikifor Vardev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Barbudos FC's Zdzislaw Slazak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Barbudos FC from getting a goal against them. Sebastián Sosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nikifor Vardev went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 44th match minute, Barbudos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Budianu to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Nikifor Vardev took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastián Sosa. Sebastián Sosa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Vikingos FC made a substitution. Segundo Balendin replaced Aurelio Urtats. Fernando Rivera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 70th minute Fernando Rivera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Sosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Barbudos FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Severino Rojas hit a great ball. Vikingos FC's Bernardo Bela was substituted for Guaberto Ongile. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Rivera in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastián Sosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fernando Rivera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebastián Sosa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute of the match Barbudos FC got a corner. Vikingos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hulki Rasih ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Vikingos FC's goalie and right to Fernando Rivera. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Vikingos FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Barbudos FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
